Description

After a year of recording and writing, Broken Social Scene is a fine distillation of all the band's ambitions. Hands-in-the-air anthems, daydream comedowns, sprawling jams -- this is a long, winding road of a record that goes places to which even BSS are surprised to have arrived.
Let the beauty begin all over again...

F**king incredible
Freeze
22/03/2011Wicked vision, incredible songs, epic production. If you have a nice set of speakers you'll hear all kinds of quieter, "hidden" sounds which only underline the genius behind its conception. If you get vinyl, the bonus EP is on the fourth side. If you think of it as a natural extension of the main album rather than a separate EP what you end up with is a double album without a single lame moment.
It's hard to articulate how vastly superior this album was to most everything else that came out that year without sounding like some kind of paid partisan. Suffice it to say it's been six years and I still listen to it more often than any other album by anyone. Truly a landmark that in 20 years will still sound timeless.
