Description
Raised on video games and laughter, Thee Oneironauts is an ode to indie rock sans any pretension beyond the basement walls. Love it or hate it, either way, there is space for both extremes in each of the eight tracks found here.
Made in the summer/winter of 2003 at the capricious age before twenty, Thee Oneironauts wrote from their experience on the very edge of the Greater Toronto Area in the small suburbs of Milton, Ontario before leaving their separate ways for university. Including friend and songstress Emily Hunt on saxophone and back up vocals, all the odes are born from the illusion of love and the illusion of life in general. And yes, all were saved from deteriorating compact discs and remastered by Ryan Lenssen and Ryan Mills. So stop complaining about the world and make out with someone again for the first time. Grow your hair a little longer and dream of your youth, even if it was shit, dream it with us again.
Before there was The Most Serene Republic, there was Thee Oneironauts. Comprised of childhood friends Adrian Jewett, Ryan Lenssen, & Nick Greaves. For the first time, The Most Serene Republic has compiled and remastered material from their Pre Serene Republic days. The 8-song, 37min. collection, the second release on the band’s own Home Of The Rebels, available May 24, shows the initial spark and curiosity that would become one of the more explosive and experimental bands of the past half-dozen years.
